The Creole Love Call (arr. Rick Stitzel)

This early jazz standard from Duke Ellington features a slow and sultry blues style and a wonderfully plaintive melody. Written in a “call and response” format, this chart for young players also includes a solo (or soli) for trumpet and nicely scored full ensemble sections.
