From the cantata “Portraits in Grace,” this singular text is brought forward wrapped in simple yet profound music. The folksong quality of the melody matches well with poetic imagery to share how God is reflected in creation. We hear His voice “in the singing of the birds.” We “see His face in ev’ry flower.” “His crown is twined with our ev’ry thorn” and “His cross is ev’ry tree.” A supportive and impressionistic piano accompaniment completes the painting.
