John La Barbera has taken his well-known version of Chick Corea’s “Spain” and done a great job of adapting it for the small band format. Certainly an exciting offering for mature players in an arrangement for six horns plus rhythm.

Paul Jennings’ masterful arrangement from 1982 sounds as fresh today as it did when it was first released. The authentic sounds of Chick Corea’s classic are faithfully captured and this new edition is notated in cut time (rather than 4/4) to make it much easier to read. A real gem for every jazz ensemble.
