Captain Blood’s Quickstep

A great many marches were composed during the Civil War, yet “Captain Blood’s Quickstep” from the book of 1st Brigade Band stands apart as being particularly unique. The opening is in the form of a bolero, followed by verses cast as operatic recitatives, and finally a rousing quickstep chorus. An effective and entertaining way to capture the flavor of this important period of our nation’s history.
