Featuring a rarely published Isaac Watts text with the Southern Harmony hymn tune, “Restoration” Benjamin Harlan creates a moving lullaby to the Christ Child with “Hush my babe, lie still in slumber.” This expressive minor-key ballad moves suddenly into the dance-like setting of “Gentle Mary Laid Her Child” for a joyful counter part to the plaintive opening.
